It's That Time of Year Again

The days are longer (which means our kids go to sleep later and wake up earlier) and the days are getting hot. It's supposed to get up to 99 by the end of the week. I'm not ready for the heat! I'm perfectly happy with the ideal weather we've been enjoying for the past few months. Too bad it can't last forever.
.
We had a lovely birthday dinner last night. We took a cake and candles to the restaurant. It was very slow there and it felt like we had the place to ourselves. Spencer loved his combo platter - everything, that is, except for the oysters. I explained to him that no one in the world likes those except my dad. So he wanted to save them for him, but I thought it would stink up our fridge. Dave said, "You can take it to school for show and smell." That really cracked him up. Then we went to Michael's, and Spencer picked out some ocean decor for his room - a fish net, an anchor, some fish wallies and some stamps. The kids had a blast exploring that store. And luckily the place was practically empty so we weren't disturbing anyone.
