I have a dream...

Dallin won the American Legion speech contest again this year. They held it back in December, but the awards banquet was mid-January. They invited the six winners and their families to attend a dinner, after which they all performed their speeches. The fourth grade topic was to discuss I Have A Dream, by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and come up with their own 3 dreams for the future. Dallin chose: music returning to the schools, world peace, and space exploration.

I always love to hear him speak! He is loud and clear and full of expression - as you can see. He doesn't get at all nervous; in fact he really enjoys it.

Then they presented the awards: a certificate, a medal,

And a check for $60! He's still not sure how he wants to spend it. He still has birthday money from July, and he's thinking about saving up for some kind of electronic.

Here he is with the other fourth grade winner. We just found out that our principal is leaving, so this may be the last year our school participates in this contest. Good job, Dallin!
