Canyon Hopping Day 3: Bryce

We were driving along in the shuttle from the Visitor Center, and things were looking totally normal and dull. You know, regular trees and such. We got off at one of the stops and still didn't see anything cool. But after walking just a few yeards, we got to this amazing view. At over 8000 ft, this was the highest elevation of the 3 canyons.
We did the hike that the brochures said, "If you only do one hike, this is the one you should do." It was a 3 mile loop down into the canyon. This first part was very steep downhill. It's called Wall Street. People we passed were completely out of breath, and I thought- oh no, that's going to be us on our way back up.

This was a great hike for the boys because there were so many cool caves, tunnels and holes to explore. Their socks were orange by the end.

There were a lot more trees at the bottom, and fewer hoodoos (the tall skinny rocks).
Dallin ended up falling off of this log and getting hurt. But it was fun while it lasted.
We stopped to eat lunch about halfway through the hike, and some people walking by insisted on taking our picture. I love how Brennan is peeking out from behind Dave.

Everyone looks hot with the red rocks reflecting on their faces, but actually it was a beautiful day.
Then the trail started to climb back up. But it was much more gradual than the beginning, thank goodness. So if you happen to do this hike, start at the Navajo loop and head towards Queen Victoria's Garden.

I love all the rocks just sitting on each other.

All done with canyons. It was fun, but I was sure ready to sit and rest my legs by this point.

Your trip looks like it was so much fun! And I mostly just want to say how great you look! If I didn't already know you were pregnant, I wouldn't have guessed (particularly with the one photo here in Bryce!)

What a fun trip! I had no idea you visited the canyons before the reunion. You're such a trooper going on the hikes. And the pictures look great.
