The end of hockey

The boys just finished another great hockey season. Spencer did an awesome job, as usual. It's always so fun to watch him take command of the puck and score.

But this was a great season for Tyler too. He skated all over the place, got a lot more aggressive, and stopped a bunch of pucks.

They had a good team this season. They won their play-off game, but then they lost the championship game in overtime. It was all very exciting to watch!

I made cupcakes for the occasion. In case you can't tell (I made them very quickly), those are chocolate hockey sticks and M&M pucks.

It was very difficult for some people to wait through 2 whole games before they could eat one.

See the score in the background - we lost 2-1. After the last game they all skated laps to "We Are the Champions."

Spencer's friend Austin was on their team this season. Dave was assistant coach.

Their coach talked about each player as he handed out the cupcakes.

Tyler was named most improved player.

Spencer and Austin were awarded best offense players. Now we are hoping this is not the END of hockey forever. The owners are retiring and no one has bought it yet. There are some kind of negotiations going on, but I'm not sure what the deal is. We will be very sad if we can't keep going. It's been the perfect sport for our family.
