Spencer just finished another great season of hockey down in SLO.
His team was AWESOME! They called themselves the Narwhals, and they were all from north county (they all used to play up here at Skatemore before it closed). They were undefeated the whole regular season, and they usually didn't just win by a little bit, either. My friend's 2 girls couldn't make these team pictures.
We rushed down for the championship after Levi's preschool graduation a couple weeks ago.
Hockey makes him so happy!
Given that we were undefeated, we assumed we'd win the first game and go on to the final game right after that. We all went down and figured it would be a late night.
The game started out well. Spencer scored early and made an assist. We were up 4-1.
Then something went wrong, and we ended up losing 5-4! No one could believe it. Kind of a bummer way to end the season, but at least we got to go home at 9:00 instead of 10:00.
They ate treats, then Coach Pat said a few words about each player and handed out medals.
Most of us are switching to the new hockey league starting up in Atascadero this summer, so hopefully we'll keep seeing them around. They're all such great kids, and we've gotten pretty close to some of the parents. Go north county!!
