Happy Birthday Levi!

Levi turned 4 last month. He requested a monster truck cake, which was very easy to make.

We put electrical tape tracks all over the house, and he had fun pushing his truck around it before the party. Then he did timed races with his friends. We invited 3 friends, which seemed like just the right size.

Levi was super happy the whole day! It was hard for him to wait for the party to start, so it's a good thing we had it kinda early (11-1, so my dad could be there before going to work).

The tracks led to one of the bedrooms, where the piñata was hiding. After the monster truck racing, we went outside to do the piñata.

Levi and I had so much fun getting ready for his party. He loved choosing everything for the treat bags.

He was MOST excited about the piñata. He didn't want blindfolds, and he just wanted the little kids to do it.

Luckily it was a cheep piñata, so it broke easily. I love how all the candy is frozen in mid-air!

Then we did wheel barrow rides. Dallin and I decorated it to look like a monster truck. Unfortunately the big wheels fell off pretty quick, so it didn't look too much like a monster truck anymore.

They made it all comfy with a big cushion inside.

My boys do this with each other all the time, but it made some of Levi's friends a little nervous.

Then my family joined us for the rest of the party. He opened presents, and then we had lunch. We ate hot dogs, little sandwiches, fruit and dip, chips, etc.

Levi had a huge grin on his face the whole day. He almost cracked up laughing during the song.

Luke gave Levi a whole bunch of dress-ups, and we gave him a Captain America costume.

On his actual birthday, I took Levi to Wendy's for lunch. Luke came over to play in the afternoon.

Luke and Levi helped me decorate monster cupcakes - they told me what kind of hair, how many eyes, etc. I think they turned out so cute!

After dinner (Dave brought home Panda Express), Levi opened presents. He loves his monkey footed pajamas!

He left his beloved monkey pillow pet at a hotel this past summer, so we gave him a new one for his birthday.

His favorite gift was a monster backpack full of crafts.

I think this is going to be a great year for Levi. He has always been very independent, but now he is getting old enough to be able to do all the things he wants to do by himself. I love this kid!

Aww! Fantastic birthday! I love the series of picture of singing and blowing out the candles, how it captures a lot of personality.
