A Christmas Carol

Tyler and Dallin just finished performing in A Christmas Carol the weekend before Christmas. They started rehearsing back in September, and they LOVED it. It took a lot of time, but they said it was worth it. Here they are getting ready to go caroling downtown to promote the play.

They weren't allowed to cut their hair for 2 months. They were looking pretty shaggy, but it looked good in the play. They both had LOTS of parts and therefore lots of costume changes. They had to book it between scenes!

Tyler was in the opening scene. He would always go backstage afterwards and tell everyone how crowded the audience was. They were almost completely full for all 4 performances!

Fred and Ebeneezer Scrooge. These two were awesome!

Dallin had a couple of solos. Scrooge ran him off the stage (think of the singing bunny in The Muppet Christmas Carol).

So apparently this was Scrooge's first play. He was perfect for the part, and I especially liked all his facial expressions.

I signed up to take pictures. I went to the final dress rehearsal, but they were still finishing the sets and didn't have all their costumes on. This was the best time for pictures, though, because I could move around without worrying about an audience.

Then Dave and I went to 2 of the performances and sat in the first row (Spencer and Brennan went to one too). I took TONS of pictures and sent 260 of them to all the cast. These are just some of my favorites.

Tyler and Dallin were both restless phantoms. They liked doing this scene.

Cool lighting! Waiting for the first spirit.

There were 2 spirits of Christmas past.

Tyler was a young schoolboy from the past, playing games.

Dallin was child Ebeneezer. He got to play a song on the piano that he made up. The director heard him playing around one day and decided to put it in the play. Tyler played his violin during Fred's party.

Tyler was the schoolmaster.

He was also a guest at Fezziwig's party.

Then he was the priest at Fannie's (Scrooge's sister) death.

Next  he played the porter, delivering gifts to Belle's (Scrooge's ex-fiance) new family.

I love that face, Tyler!

Tyler and Dallin were both street vendors.

Bob Cratchit and Tiny Tim.

Dallin was one of the young Cratchits.

And one of the German miners, singing Christmas carols.

Tyler was a Scottish sailor, singing carols.

Then Dallin was Ignorance (as in Want and Ignorance)

Dallin started off rounds of caroling at the end with another solo.

"God bless us, everyone!"
