Easter Sunday

We had a lovely Easter, although the day flew by too fast. As usual, the Easter Bunny left clues for the kids to find their baskets. He was in a rhyming mood, and I thought they were super cute clues. Brennan was excited to help reading them this year.

Brennan and Levi woke up around 7:00, which isn't too bad.

Brennan felt much better. It was a  nice quick virus.

We let the older boys sleep in until 8:00, because they had a long day in L.A. the day before. It was Tyler's first youth temple trip, and he loved it. Dave went down with them too.

Chloe woke up with a super snotty nose, but at least she was still happy. The candy probably helped. At one point during the day she asked for some candy. I handed her a jelly bean, and she threw it away. She just wanted chocolate. Smart girl!

Good sharing, Chloe!

Love the hair, Dallin.

I like it when they get fun little activities in their baskets...

Spencer spent the day putting together this little metal airplane model. He loved it and wants to get more.

While Tyler made balloon animals

And Dallin learned yo-yo tricks.

Brennan got a little needlework kit and Levi got pirate stamps. Apparently I didn't take pictures of those.

We did our Easter egg hunt inside this year. The eggs were color-coded, so the oldest 3 boys weren't allowed to pick up certain colors because they were easier for the little kids.

Brennan helped Chloe. It was very sweet!

Somehow we miscounted as we filled them, and instead of getting the usual dozen each, they got close to 20!

We have afternoon church this year, but before we knew it we had to stop eating chocolate and start getting ready. I managed to take a few pictures before heading out.

I bought this cute dress at the Gymboree outlet last year. Simple, springy, and adorable!

Right after we took this picture and before they got in the car, Chloe found chocolate and got it all over her dress. I had already left to pick up someone for church, and Dave had to clean it and dry it super fast. They didn't want to be late because it was Tyler's first time to pass the sacrament at church. What a morning! Church was wonderful - great talks and classes.

After church we all got together at my parents' house for a delicious ham dinner. We ate on their deck, and the weather was perfect!

Nathan showed us some yo-yo tricks.

I made a strawberry pie with the most delicious fruit stand strawberries. Yum! We also had coconut and cream pies. Then we all Skyped my sister Emily and wished her husband Troy "Happy Birthday!" It was a great day!! I love Easter. It is fairly simple, as far as holidays go (candy, church and yummy food), but it celebrates the single most important event in the history of the world. I am thankful for my Savior and his ultimate sacrifice. Yes, Easter is about the resurrection, but it is so much more than that. Jesus atoned for our sins, pains, mistakes and trials. I really like the video, Because of Him. Happy Easter!!
